LA Knight has been on a roll after winning the United States Championship from Logan Paul at SummerSlam and he has been booked well as the champion since then. Knight cares about his presentation, and that’s why it comes as no surprise he requested Lilian Garcia to announce his name correctly after RAW this week.
Lilian Garcia has been back in the fold as a full-time announcer for Monday Night RAW since the October 21 WWE RAW episode. Although she made a few botches during her first announcement, fans were still happy to see her last week. Garcia entertained fans with her announcing skills during this week’s RAW as well for good measure, but some fans feel she still needs time to get used to the current landscape of WWE.
Following the conclusion of the October 28th episode of Monday Night RAW, LA Knight was set to compete in a dark match. Before the match started, Knight talked to Lilian Garcia about how she announced his name.
LA Knight started by giving her a compliment, calling her a legend and saying she did a fantastic job with the introduction. However, he asked her for a small change. When she said, “Your United States Champion LA Knight,” he requested that she should say it as “L-A Knight, yeah!” to make it sound even better.
“Actually Lilian, let me talk to you. Legend in the game with us here, can we give it up for Lilian? Now look real quick, I heard your announcement while I came out and it was damn good, it was really damn good. I would dare to say maybe nobody can do it better, but — I know one way you can do it better. See when I came out here you said, “Your United States Champion LA Knight.” And Lilian yes you did it amazing, but I need one little favor, just the tiniest little thing. So I guess all I’m saying is as amazing a job as you did, I’m just saying when this man comes out, it’s ”L-A-Knight, yeah!”
We have also reported that Lilian Garcia may not be a permanent replacement for Samantha Irvin. Nonetheless, LA Knight wanted to make sure that Lilian Garcia announced his name in the best way possible and fans understand why it had to be done.
