AEW has a lot of dedicated fans, and some forget the fact that the company is just over five years old. Tony Khan had a five-year plan for AEW in 2019, and we are past that point. At such a young age, they are still battling with companies that have been around many times their existence, but AEW World Champion Jon Moxley has not forgotten that fact that all.

During a recent interview with Youngstown Studio, Jon Moxley shared his thoughts on the future of All Elite Wrestling and the limitless potential the company holds as it continues to evolve.

Moxley reflected on AEW’s growth and emphasized that the company is still in its early stages, providing an exciting opportunity to shape its future. That being said, AEW has a lot to grow into.

“AEW is still, basically a toddler. It’s wide open to mold it into whatever we want. There are no rules. We have a whole person to grow into. AEW is wide open and still a piece of clay. There have been a couple of dents in and a couple of fingerprints in it, it’s taken a certain shape, but it’s still just a lump of clay, which is a very exciting thing. We can turn it into whatever we want. Anything you can imagine.”

There is no rule of pro wrestling or rule of television. We’re putting those rules on ourselves or they are in our imagination or they are being dictated to us by somebody else, some outside force who isn’t part of the creative and doesn’t have their hands on clay. If you tune all that out and just look at the clay and use your imagination and go, ‘what can we turn this into?’ Literally anything is possible.”

Jon Moxley emphasized that while AEW’s current state is important, he is more focused on the company’s long-term future, envisioning what it could become in the next five, ten, or even twenty years. He expressed optimism about the potential for growth and the new opportunities ahead, including AEW’s recent television deal and the streaming partnership with HBO Max.

“I’m not concerned about what AEW is right now. I’m concerned about what it could be five years from now or ten years from now or 20 years from now. That is the exciting thing to me. The journey of a million miles begins with a single step. When you step back and look, this is pretty much exactly what you would have expected, if you look at it broadly, from a new company in this environment. Now, we have a new television deal, streaming on HBO Max brings out new opportunities. There are other opportunities and ideas. Pro wrestling, the beautiful thing about it, is always changing, growing, and evolving. If you’re not constantly learning, you get left behind.”

Jon Moxley also discussed the importance of staying ahead of the curve and being willing to take risks in an industry that is always shifting. He shared his desire for AEW to remain innovative and experimental, even if it means making mistakes along the way.

“I’d rather be the first person to try something, and it messed up, and we all learn from that. The future, to me, there has never been a more exciting time. The future is wide open to make it whatever we want to make it if you just have the courage to walk the path.”

Moxley’s vision for AEW reflects his belief that the company’s journey is still in its infancy, with big time opportunities for growth and transformation as they continue to push the boundaries of professional wrestling. We will have to see where Tony Khan leads his company in the future.

AEW has a passionate locker room full of stars who believe in the company. A few of them, like Adam Cole, Jon Moxley, and even MJF turned down big money prospects from WWE so they could take that journey with the All Elite Wrestling roster. Only time will tell how AEW grows, but Moxley is ready to help take them there.
