AJ Styles Clarifies Reports of WWE Rejecting TNA Hall of Fame Induction

AJ Styles established himself as one of TNA Wrestling’s standout talents for several years and many fans felt he more than deserved to be in the TNA Hall of Fame this year, but it didn’t materialize. Reports suggested WWE turned down an offer for AJ Styles to receive a TNA Hall of Fame induction this year, and now AJ Styles has clarified such reports.

At TNA Bound for Glory 2024, Rhino and the late Bob Ryder were inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame, joining notable names like Kurt Angle, Sting, and Abyss. Recently, it was reported by Fightful Select that TNA had approached WWE about inducting AJ Styles, but WWE declined the request.

“TNA was interested in possibly inducting AJ Styles in the TNA Hall of Fame, but WWE had passed on the idea, @FightfulSelect is told.”

However, AJ Styles took to Twitter and clarified that it was actually his decision to turn down the TNA Hall of Fame induction, not WWE’s. He expressed his appreciation for TNA but stated that he doesn’t want to be part of any Hall of Fame while he is still an active wrestler.

“I’m still an active wrestler…I hope. I made the decision not to go into the TNA HOF, not WWE. I appreciate TNA, but I don’t want to go into any HOF as long as I’m still active. My choice”

Although he wasn’t inducted this year, Styles did make a video appearance to honor Bob Ryder during his induction. Styles was an integral part of TNA programming from the very beginning and fans still hope he will eventually get inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame.

As for Styles right now, he has been absent from WWE television since the October 4 episode of WWE SmackDown where he suffered an ankle injury. Nonetheless, only time will tell what will become of The Phenomenal One in the end, but he had to make sure WWE wasn’t being blamed for something he did.
