WWE has a few big names backstage who are around every week, but fans never see them. William Regal has been back with WWE for over a year now after he left AEW, and fans saw him reappear in surprising fashion in Hersey, Pennsylvania.
During Halloween Havoc, Lexis King was interviewed backstage. He spoke about the rejection he’s faced since arriving in NXT, and how much that hurts.
The former Brian Pillman Jr said that he understands how much of a shadow his father left for him, but he has yet to be able to step out of that yet. He said the whole thing sucks, and he needs someone in his corner.
Suddenly, William Regal appeared on the screen, and he offered his services. Regal said that he was very close to Brian Pillman, and he wants to help Lexis King out. This was gladly accepted by Lexis King, so it appears that we have a new pairing on NXT.
William Regal was forbidden from appearing on WWE television for a whole year after he left AEW for WWE. That was part of the deal surrounding Tony Khan granting Regal his release. Regal has been a part of NXT backstage, but now that time is up, Regal is back on television.
William Regal is currently Vice President of Global Talent Development for WWE, a role that Triple H had all ready for him once he took control of the company. This encouraged Regal to seek his release from AEW, and now that he is free to appear on television once again, it appears that he will not waste any time.
