Samantha Irvin announced that she is leaving WWE, in a move that no one saw coming, and many people are trying to accept that fact even now. This led to a lot of hatred towards Ricochet and now Samantha Irvin has clapped back at a fan who accused her of being a gold digger.
Ricochet and Samantha Irvin have been together since 2021 and announced their engagement publicly in January last year. The two always make sure to defend each other on social media and constantly support one another no matter what. After all, many fans view them as the ideal couple in the world of professional wrestling. Irvin would then confirm that she and Ricochet are now married.
After news broke of Samantha Irvin’s departure from WWE, a significant number of fans directed their frustration toward Ricochet, blaming him for her decision to leave. Some fans even expressed concern that Ricochet might negatively impact Irvin’s career.
Samantha Irvin recently shared that announcing in WWE wasn’t her passion, and she had hoped to take on a different role within the company, like managing talent or stepping into a General Manager position for a brand.
“I don’t like announcing. I’m serious! Announcing was only supposed to be my way in. I wanted to manage, maybe even become general manager one day. But WWE saw no other future for me besides announcer. I love watching the action, but I don’t love being an announcer.”
Recently, an outraged fan tagged Ricochet on Twitter and accused Samantha Irvin of being a gold digger after she stated that Ricochet is a millionaire, so she no longer had to work in a company she didn’t want to. Irvin responded to the fan by pointing out that she was with Ricochet long before he even became a millionaire.

Samantha Irvin explained that she made those remarks because people constantly criticize her husband, hoping for their breakup and suggesting he’s not “man enough” for her. She emphasized how much he cares for her, supports her, and is successful in his own right. Irvin shared her pride and love for him, noting that he understands this. With humor, she added that she’s even planning to have him take her to see Whoopi Goldberg as Miss Hannigan in Annie in NYC for her birthday.
“I said it because people dog my husband every day. Say they hope we break up, say he isn’t man enough for me. But he is the one who cares for me, supports me. He is successful. I am proud. I love him. He knows this. Don’t be mad cause I’m gonna get him to take me to see Whoopi as Miss Hannigan in Annie in NYC for my birthday”
Samantha Irvin shared that it was actually Ricochet who first encouraged her to leave WWE if she wasn’t enjoying announcing. He told her, “Honey, I’m a millionaire. You don’t have to go to work anymore if it’s not what you love.” She happily agreed, saying she’ll miss having the best seat in the house and watching her colleagues perform.
“He said it first. He actually told me, “honey I’m a millionaire. You don’t have to go to work anymore if you don’t enjoy announcing” I said omg yas. But I will miss having the best seat in the house and watching my colleagues kick ass. ❤️”
Samantha Irvin’s decision to leave WWE was something she had been contemplating for a very long time, as she ultimately wants to focus on her music career now. Considering Ricochet already confirmed Irvin will not go to AEW, fans shouldn’t expect to see her there or in professional wrestling in general anytime soon, if ever again. Regardless, she will always defend her husband no matter what and that’s never changing.
