Samantha Irvin’s sudden exit from WWE just before this week’s Monday Night RAW surprised the wrestling community, as her departure was unexpected. She also mentioned that she never enjoyed announcing in WWE, which sparked some backlash. Due to this, Irvin decided to clarify her comments to address the reaction.

Samantha Irvin recently admitted that she never liked announcing in WWE and that she wanted to do more in the company, such as managing or becoming the General Manager for a brand.

“I don’t like announcing. I’m serious! Announcing was only supposed to be my way in. I wanted to manage, maybe even become general manager one day. But WWE saw no other future for me besides announcer. I love watching the action, but I don’t love being an announcer.”

Samantha Irvin stating that she did not like her role as an announcer in WWE ticked off many people, as some fans called her out for taking shots at WWE and even called her pathetic. Many people also assumed that Irvin never liked wrestling in general and ran with that narrative.

Samantha Irvin took to Twitter and explained her recent comments about leaving WWE, saying that while she enjoyed her time there, announcing wasn’t really her passion. She sees herself as an actress and performer, not a full-time announcer. She shared that her decision to leave wasn’t about taking an announcing job somewhere else but about focusing on her true love for performing.

Irvin added that even though she loved wrestling and put her heart into her role, she didn’t see herself as a career announcer and didn’t want that label forever. After getting a lot of backlash and assumptions about her future plans, she decided to clear up any misunderstandings and made it clear she nuked that bridge as some people felt “ring announcer” was on her birth certificate.

‘”I don’t take any of it for granted. It was the best time, I’m just not an announcer. I’m an actress. And the only reason I had to let people know I left because I don’t enjoy the act of announcing, is because of the wave of hate that has come to myself and my husband. The constant comparisons and the assumption that I would leave announcing at WWE to announce somewhere else. I’m a stage performer. I enjoyed playing the role until it wasn’t acting anymore and until I realized there was no character work for me at WWE. I poured my love for wrestling into it. Doesn’t mean I consider myself a true announcer. I’m a performer.

I nuked it because people think it says “ring announcer” on my birth certificate.”

Samantha Irvin then revealed that she’s passionate about wrestling and considers herself a perfectionist. As a performer and vocalist, she aimed to show her deep understanding of wrestling, but things didn’t go as planned. Although she had other goals within wrestling, she currently has no outside projects lined up. For now, she’s focused on spending time at home with her daughter.

“I am obsessed with wrestling and I’m a perfectionist. I’m a performer, I’m a vocalist. I wanted to show I had a mind for wrestling. It backfired. I had other goals in wrestling. I have no outside projects. Now I’m just gonna be at home with my daughter.”

Another fan claimed that she hated working in WWE and sent her support after her departure. Samantha Irvin noted that she loved working at WWE and made it clear she had no hatred towards her former occupation.

”Hate is a strong word. I loved working at WWE. Thank you so much!”

It was reported that several factors, especially scheduling conflicts, led to Samantha Irvin’s departure from WWE. The company has revealed their openness to the idea of her returning for cameo appearances in the future. Meanwhile, Irvin has chosen to focus on her music career and that remains her goal at the moment.
