Ricky Starks Makes Unexpected Appearance at Indie Promotion During AEW Hiatus

Ricky Starks, one of AEW’s standout stars since his 2020 debut, has left fans puzzled by his sudden disappearance from television in late March. Despite being off AEW programming for several months, it appears Starks made an appearance at an indie promotion.

On the March 30 episode of AEW Collision, Ricky Starks appeared to sustain an injury during a tag team title tournament match where he and Big Bill faced off against Top Flight. This match ended up being his last appearance on AEW television, and he has been absent since then for reasons that remain unclear.

During his absence from AEW television, Ricky Starks made it clear he was very uncertain about his future in the company and fans wondered if he’ll even remain with AEW till the end.

While he remains absent from AEW television, Ricky Starks made an appearance at Glory Pro Wrestling today, where he hit a brutal spear on a pro wrestler. Afterwards, he cut a promo to the audience that he isn’t someone that will pass up an opportunity of a lifetime, which is why he made his way to St. Luious. He then called out another pro wrestler for a match at November 24th at Glory Pro Wrestling, making it clear he will prove to everyone that he is the man and that he’s Absolute.

It is to be noted that WWE NXT is reportedly very interested in signing him whenever he becomes available. Regardless, fans are glad to see Starks active in the independent scene again so we’ll have to see if he will end up leaving AEW once his contract expires.
