Cora Jade is one of CM Punk’s biggest fans and that has been the case since she was a child as she considers The Second City Saint as her father figure in professional wrestling. Interestingly enough, she started becoming a CM Punk fan out of spite.

When Cora Jade suffered her ACL injury back in January this year, CM Punk paid her a surprise visit at a restaurant and made sure she had a great time there. Throughout the past year, Punk has always been there for Cora Jade.

While speaking to The Takedown, Cora Jade was asked how she became a CM Punk fan. Cora Jade admitted that she first became a fan of CM Punk out of spite. Since both she and Punk are from Chicago, she felt a connection to him. However, her support for Punk also came from her little brother’s love for Rey Mysterio.

At that time, she was really getting into wrestling, especially during the feud between Punk and Mysterio. One of her favorite memories is when Punk sang “Happy Birthday” to Mysterio’s daughter Aliyah. To go against her brother’s support for Mysterio out of pure spite, she decided to be a CM Punk fan, but eventually grew to love him.

“I think, number one, obviously he’s from Chicago and I was from Chicago, so I was like, ‘Well, automatic.’ Then, honestly, it was kind of out of spite. I remember that the time I really started watching was when CM Punk and Rey Mysterio were feuding, and he was singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the kids. That’s such a prime memory in my brain. My little brother was a huge Rey Mysterio fan, so to be like, ‘F you, I’m a CM Punk fan now. I love CM Punk!’ I just started being a CM Punk fan.

Cora Jade will always have a ton of love and respect for CM Punk as she follows the same ideologies that he has in life and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon. In the meantime, fans will always love to see the two interact, as she and Roxanne Perez had a special birthday gift for CM Punk recently as well.
