TNA Wrestling has been gaining significant momentum, and Bound for Glory 2024 didn’t disappoint, delivering an action-packed night that lived up to fan expectations. Held at the Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit, Michigan, the event electrified the crowd with thrilling matchups and intense competition. Even the TNA Digital Media Championship received its moment in the spotlight.
One of the night’s standout matches was the Monsters Ball Match, where PCO and Matt Cardona clashed in a brutal contest for both the TNA Digital Media Championship and the International Heavyweight Championship. The chaotic, no-holds-barred atmosphere of Monsters Ball was the perfect stage for these two competitors. They company also kept up the gimmick where both competitors were deprived of any light for 24 hours before the match.
This match was for both titles, and Cardona made his way to the ring in a Ghostbusters type outfit. That was a nice homage that paid tribute to his love of collecting all things retro with his “Deathmatch Busters” jumpsuit on. Of course, PCO wasn’t there to mess around, either.
PCO started off this match by taking a front flip out of the ring to the floor, which is never good for a 56-year-old to take. They battled on outside the ring as the former Zack Ryder ate up all the heat he got from fans.
Cardona got a trash can from under the ring and nailed PCO in the head as he went for a dive on the outside. “All Hail the Deathmatch King!” Cardona yelled before carrying on with the beating. Then Cardona got a door out from under the ring and slid it in. Then he propped the door up on two chairs before putting additional chairs under it as fans chanted, “You Sick F*ck!” at him.
PCO jumped in the ring, and just when it looked like he was going to send Matt Cardona through the door, but the Broski sent PCO through the door, and it splintered into pieces. Then Cardona got a black bag from under the ring to spread out thumbtacks and he put them in PCO’s mouth before kicking him in the face. PCO took a couple more shots with the thumbtacks, and then Cardona stuck them in his face one by one until it woke PCO up.
Matt Cardona nailed a Radio Silence next, but it only got him a two count. Then Cardona got another door from under the ring. However, PCO bulldozed over Cardona and the door before he smashed it over Cardona for a near fall.
Then PCO got even more thumbtacks from under the ring, and he spread them out. Matt Cardona nailed a low blow, and he went to get a green colored barbed wire covered baseball bat to lay in some shots on PCO. Then PCO caught Cardona by the throat and he chokeslammed him onto the thumbtacks.
PCO climbed up top next, and he nailed a PCO-sault for the win. This was a big match, and full of weapons. In the end, PCO retained his titles, much to Matt Cardona’s dismay. It also appeared that Cardona cut his leg up during that match, but his pant leg covered the wound, so we didn’t get a good look at it.
