The Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, didn’t hold back when reflecting on their groundbreaking victory over The Bloodline on the October 26 episode of WWE SmackDown. Capturing their first WWE Tag Team Championships in just their third bout with the company, Shelley and Sabin took out Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa in a wild main event that saw interference from The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Roman Reigns.

After their shocking victory, WWE’s Byron Saxton caught up with the new champions in an exclusive backstage interview, where the duo shared their emotions and intentions moving forward. Sabin admitted he was overwhelmed, saying:

“I think it’s still sinking in. I’m almost kind of speechless, I don’t know what to say. It’s kind of unheard of to be on the fast-track to success like this in WWE, but this is exactly what we came here to do.”

“We came here to prove that we’re one of the greatest tag teams of all time. And there’s only one place you can do that, and that’s right here in WWE.”

Meanwhile, Shelley set his sights on the future, indicating their journey is just getting started:

“Quite frankly, it doesn’t matter what we did last week, it doesn’t matter what we did an hour ago. What matters right now is that we’re champions and we have to hold onto these.”

“The hard work’s just beginning, but you ain’t seen nothing yet. We’re the greatest of all time for a reason – we’re gonna prove it to the WWE Universe.”

The match wasn’t just significant for the Motor City Machine Guns, but also saw the emotional reunion of Jimmy and Jey Uso. After assisting in the victory, the two brothers embraced in the ring, marking the official reunion of The Usos to the delight of the Barclays Center crowd, with Roman Reigns watching from the entrance ramp.

The Motor City Machine Guns have made it clear that their mission is just beginning. With their newly won WWE Tag Team Titles, the duo is determined to cement their place among the greatest in WWE history.
