GUNTHER’s recent promo on SmackDown didn’t sit well with Brandi Rhodes. During the October 25th episode of SmackDown in Brooklyn, GUNTHER had a face-off with Cody Rhodes ahead of their upcoming champion vs. champion match at WWE Crown Jewel on November 2. In his promo, GUNTHER referenced Cody’s daughter Liberty, which didn’t go unnoticed by Cody’s wife, Brandi Rhodes.
Brandi took to Twitter to express her discontent with GUNTHER’s comments, writing:
“Wait, what did he say about my daughter? I don’t usually be listening to him when he starts talking. Catch me up.”
This isn’t the first time Brandi has commented publicly on her husband’s WWE storylines. Earlier this year, she also shared her thoughts on Cody’s feud with Solo Sikoa and the Bloodline.
The mention of Liberty seems to be an escalation in the personal nature of the feud between Cody and GUNTHER, adding another layer to the buildup for Crown Jewel. Cody had previously mentioned his daughter in a promo in Columbia, NC, which GUNTHER criticized, indicating his disapproval of bringing family into WWE storylines.
In related news, Cody’s long-time friend and recent rival Kevin Owens will now face Randy Orton at Crown Jewel, following Orton’s personal request to Triple H to book the match during SmackDown.
