Joe Hendry has come up with a bold strategy to capture the TNA World Championship at Bound For Glory: enlist the help of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Eminem.
During a recent interview with TheOneMonaa, Hendry revealed that wrestling legend Mick Foley had given him some unique advice on how to become a world champion. Foley suggested Hendry follow his example from WWE’s 1999 Raw, where Austin’s steel chair shot to The Rock helped Mick Foley win his first WWE Championship.
“So I asked Mick Foley for some advice,” Hendry said. “‘All you have to do is make sure you’ve got Steve Austin standing by with a steel chair,’ Mick told me. I was like, that’s all it takes?! So now, I’ve officially invited Steve Austin to join me in Detroit. And hey, if Eminem is already planning to be there, we might as well get them both in my corner.”
Hendry added that with Eminem and Steve Austin in his corner, he wouldn’t have much to worry about—joking that Frankie Kazarian wouldn’t stand a chance against such a stacked entourage.
This playful invitation aligns with Hendry’s recent antics, as he has previously teased interactions with stars like The Rock and John Cena. His goal: elevate his match with current champion Nic Nemeth (formerly Dolph Ziggler) by injecting star power and unpredictability into the storyline.
Fans are eagerly anticipating whether Hendry’s over-the-top invitations will actually lead to some surprises at TNA Bound For Glory on October 26. Regardless, Mick Foley’s advice might be the spark Hendry needs to take home the TNA World Championship.
