Grayson Waller has made a name for himself as one of the most outspoken heels in WWE today. Fearless in his approach, he has no qualms about challenging any WWE Superstar, including the legendary John Cena. This boldness led him to call out Cena for a match as part of Cena’s retirement tour, and he has doubled down on his challenge recently.
At the 2024 WWE Money in the Bank event in Toronto, John Cena announced his retirement from professional wrestling. John Cena stated that he will be part of WWE RAW’s move to Netflix. He also revealed that his last wrestling appearances will be at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania in 2025. Instead of having just one retirement match, Cena plans to go on a farewell tour throughout 2025, which will include several matches leading up to his official retirement in December 2025.
While speaking on the UpUpDownDown Instagram account, Grayson Waller made it clear he wants to slap John Cena to try to get a match with him, doubling down on his previous comments. He has talked about wanting to confront Cena for a long time and plans to keep saying bold things until Cena agrees to fight him. Waller also mentioned Cena’s long retirement tour, saying that instead of just going to big cities, he would be happy to perform in smaller places like Poughkeepsie. His strong words show that he is eager to challenge one of wrestling’s biggest stars.
“I want to slap John in the face like I’ve been wanting it for so long. I’m going to get it, John. I’m going to keep saying mean things until you say yes… He said 40 shows like come on, give me Poughkeepsie or something. You don’t have to give one of the big towns… I’m fine with that.”
It remains to be seen if Grayson Waller and John Cena will clash next year during Cena’s retirement tour. Fans are excited about the possibility, believing that this matchup would be a can’t-miss event and should definitely happen next year.
