CM Punk has become a familiar face at WWE’s NXT, frequently making appearances at the Performance Center and engaging with the roster. He joins other high-profile veterans like John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and Randy Orton, who have also shared insights and advice with NXT talent.

Speaking to MuscleMan Malcolm, Tony D’Angelo, the current NXT North American Champion, opened up about the impactful advice he received from CM Punk and other veterans.

According to Tony D’Angelo, Cena gave valuable guidance to the entire roster during his visit. On the other hand, Punk, who “is always around” when available, took a more personal approach. He shared practical advice, warning against the distractions of social media:

“CM Punk… told me, ‘Don’t let social media… don’t look at it.’ When you’re in the spotlight, people will say all kinds of stuff in comments and DMs. It hasn’t bothered me yet, but it’s funny to see people hate for no reason. At some point, I’m sure it’ll get annoying.”

D’Angelo emphasized Punk’s point that social media opinions often come from people who aren’t significant to a wrestler’s career. Punk advised focusing on whether “the boss” is happy rather than on negative fans:

“Also, they’re not paying the bills. Is the boss happy, or is wrestlingfan213 happy? The boss is more important. That’s my opinion.”

Tony D’Angelo, drawing inspiration from these encounters, is now gearing up to defend his NXT North American Championship in a Tables, Ladders, and Scares match against Oba Femi at NXT Halloween Havoc. The match promises to be one of the highlights of the event as Tony continues his run with advice from top legends fueling his journey.
