Shelton Benjamin believes the arrival of Bobby Lashley in AEW would be a game-changer for the company. Speaking on the Gabby AF podcast, Benjamin reflected on his history with Lashley in The Hurt Business during their time together in WWE and expressed excitement about the possibility of reuniting with him under the AEW banner.

Benjamin, who now operates alongside MVP as part of AEW’s new faction, The Hurt Syndicate, praised Lashley as one of the most exceptional athletes in the wrestling industry.

“If Bobby were to come… that’s huge, that’s a win for AEW,” Benjamin said. He highlighted the impact The Hurt Business had during WWE’s pandemic era, when multiple members held championships simultaneously on Monday Night Raw. Benjamin added, “Aside from myself, you have one of the most phenomenal athletes you could ever get. A two-time WWE World Champion. It only brings a bigger audience to AEW, so it’s a plus.”

While Lashley hasn’t officially signed with AEW yet, Benjamin confirmed that talks between Lashley and AEW have taken place. He emphasized that the timing of Lashley’s potential arrival remains uncertain.

“Bobby has his own plans, and when or if they coincide with ours is yet to be determined. Him coming to AEW can only help everybody involved. It’ll be a lot of fun.”

Benjamin is coming off an impressive victory against Lio Rush in his AEW debut on the October 16 episode of Dynamite. Next, he’s set to face Swerve Strickland on AEW’s Fright Night Dynamite on October 30.

Fans are eager to see whether Lashley will eventually join AEW and reunite with his former faction members.
