WWE legend The Undertaker has named his iconic WrestleMania 25 showdown with Shawn Michaels as the greatest match of his career.

Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer reflected on the match and shared how his chemistry with Michaels made it a standout moment in wrestling history. “It’s probably my greatest match, as far as our technical wrestling match,” Undertaker said. “It was so easy. That’s the crazy part about it.”

Undertaker explained that what made the match feel effortless was the trust and understanding between him and Michaels, two veterans at the height of their craft. Unlike other matches, where he often had to anticipate what his opponent needed to do next, he felt completely at ease with Michaels.

“I tell people this all the time and a lot of people outside the business don’t understand: all I had to do was be Undertaker,” he said. “Most times, and I’m sure you’ve been in this situation a ton too, you have to think not only for you, you have to think for whoever’s in the ring with you. Especially as you get older and your name becomes bigger… People get intimidated, and they don’t want to step on your toes. And then you have to think for them.”

However, with Shawn Michaels, Undertaker knew his opponent could handle his end of the match. “All I had to do was go out and be me, because I knew Shawn had Shawn covered,” he continued. “He’s just one of those guys that I had really good chemistry with. It was just a magical night.”

The WrestleMania 25 encounter between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels is widely regarded as one of the greatest matches in WWE history, known for its high drama, flawless storytelling, and technical excellence. The bout would later spark a rematch at WrestleMania 26, where The Undertaker ended Michaels’ career.
