The Rock has often spoken about the idea of running for President of the United States of America and his political inclinations have been somewhat vague lately. With that said, it appears he reached out to Donald Trump after the latter’s assassination attempt.

On July 13, 2024, former U.S. President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election, survived an assassination attempt during a campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania. Tragically, the attack led to two deaths and injured seven others. The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was one of the deceased. Despite the violent situation, Trump was not harmed. Many pro wrestlers shared their thoughts on that matter and that included Kevin Nash, among others.

While speaking during the Six Feet Under podcast with The Undertaker, Donald Trump spent the first few minutes asking questions about wrestling and how things work behind the scenes. When the topic of social media came up, The Undertaker and co-host Matt Lyda mentioned that WWE has a larger following than many major sports leagues, and the person with the most followers is The Rock.

Trump shared his thoughts, saying that he always thought The Rock didn’t like him, which made him feel bad because he believes The Rock is a great guy. He then recalled Dana White telling him that The Rock had reached out to ask for his number after an incident where Trump was injured. Trump was impressed by The Rock’s kind gesture, describing it as an act of bravery, and asked that it be mentioned that he said so.

“You know he was great. I never thought he liked me. I felt badly because I think he’s a terrific guy. Then Dana White said, when I was shot to the ear. You may have heard about it. Rock called Dana and said I want to have his number. What he did is sort of incredible. He considered it bravery. It was very nice actually, The Rock. You might mention that I said that.”

This comes as no surprise, as The Rock previously blasted the assassination attempt on Donald Trump as well. Nonetheless, we’ll have to wait and see whether Donald Trump will end up winning the elections next month, as anything could happen now.
