Michael Cole has had many memorable moments during his long career in WWE, earning respect for his dedication and years of service to the company. Interestingly, during the WWE Bad Blood event, he was also watching the New York Mets game.
The WWE Bad Blood Premium Live Event took place on October 5 in Atlanta, Georgia, coinciding with Game One of the NLDS between the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies. Michael Cole, a lifelong Mets fan, didn’t want to miss the game.
While speaking during an interview with Sal Licata of WFAN, Michael Cole revealed that while announcing at ringside, he had the game playing on his phone with the volume down. He recalled that as he was calling the action for Bad Blood, he was also cheering for the Mets, pumping his fist and jumping up and down, which caught the attention of his partner, Corey Graves.
“I have the game on, on my phone, at the announce desk at ringside, with the volume down. When I was doing Bad Blood, which was game one, I had the game on at the announce desk. My partner Corey Graves kept looking over at me and I was pumping my fist and jumping up and down while calling the action of the show.”
The Mets won Game One and eventually took the series, moving on to the NLCS. Currently, they are trailing the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 in the NLCS, with Game Six scheduled for Sunday, October 20. As for Michael Cole, he confirmed signing a long-term deal with WWE so he will be sticking with the company for a long time now and fans couldn’t be happier about that fact.
