Jim Ross has dedicated decades of his life to the business and remains a crucial part of AEW. However, he has been plagued with health issues for a while now and has now revealed his current health condition following hip replacement surgery.
Earlier this year, the WWE Hall of Famer was dealing with health issues, including visit to the ER. Regarding this health episode, Jim Ross later confirmed that he had a respiratory infection, which caused shortness of breath, but he managed to recover. He would then undergo surgery for his wrist and in addition to that, he underwent hip replacement surgery as he had cancer on his right hip.
While speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross provided an update on his health, sharing that he’s doing much better, despite some challenges. Ross mentioned feeling more comfortable with traveling and that his hip is still giving him some trouble, even though it hasn’t fully healed after his replacement surgery. However, he noted that it’s improving and he’s enjoying staying active, meeting fans, and keeping busy, which helps him feel rejuvenated and energized.
“I feel better,” Ross said. “I feel better about traveling; I’m not so hesitant about travelling right now because I’m feeling good. My hip still bothers me, I wonder how long a g*ddamn hip replacement takes to heal, but it ain’t happened for me yet. But it’s getting better, so I’m doing all I can to keep my presence out there and enjoy going out there and meeting with the fans. It’s great, it’s invigorating, and it makes me feel young.”
Jim Ross also has no patience for anyone who says he looks old, as he is well aware of that fact and simply doesn’t appreciate being told that as it’s beyond his control. Nonetheless, fans are glad to hear that good ol’ JR is doing better and we hope he makes a full recovery as soon as possible.
