The Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, had officially signed with WWE before the October 18th episode of SmackDown. They went on to win their debut match on the blue brand and have now shared their first comments following the event.

The Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, quickly got into action after joining WWE. They won their debut match in a triple threat tag team bout against A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller and Austin Theory) and Los Garzas (Angel and Humberto). This victory set them up for a match against DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) next Friday, where the winners will become the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles.

While speaking on SmackDown LowDown, Chris Sabin talked about how amazing it felt to finally reach this moment after more than 20 years, just one match away from a chance at the WWE Tag Team Championships.

“It’s pretty surreal. I’d like to say it’s a dream come true, but it’s more than that. This is a goal accomplished for us. It might have taken over 20 years to get here, to get to this position, but being one match away from being number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships? That’s pretty crazy. Just saying it out loud kinda blows my mind a little bit.”

Alex Shelley explained that one of the main reasons they joined WWE was to face top teams like DIY, and they are determined to prove they are the best tag team in the world by winning the titles.

“We take things one step at a time, but DIY is exactly why we came to WWE. Exactly why we want to declare ourselves the best tag team on the planet, because we beat all the great tag teams that already exist in the WWE Universe. So I apologize to you in advance DIY, but you’re looking at the next WWE Tag Team Champions.”

We will have to wait and see whether The Motor City Machine Guns will end up defeating DIY and eventually advancing to the finals and potentially defeating The Bloodline for the WWE Tag Team Championships, as fans feel they more than deserve it already.
