Cody Rhodes Honors Cancer Survivor with Emotional Gift After 10/18 WWE SmackDown

Cody Rhodes has an incredible talent for connecting with his fans, which has played a major role in his journey to becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion. It’s no wonder that The American Nightmare showed his appreciation by giving a special gift to a fan who successfully overcame cancer after SmackDown this week.

Cody Rhodes once again showed why he’s considered the face of WWE after the October 18 episode of SmackDown from the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina. Following the televised show, two dark matches took place. In the first, Sami Zayn teamed up with The New Day to secure a victory over Pete Dunne and The Judgment Day.

For the second dark match, the Undisputed WWE Champion stepped into the ring, successfully defending his title against Solo Sikoa in a Columbia Street Fight. After his win, Rhodes took the mic for a post-match promo, which took an unexpected turn when he noticed a sign from a cancer survivor in the crowd.

In a heartfelt gesture, Cody went into the crowd and gave his weight belt to the fan before wrapping up his promo, leaving the audience in high spirits as the night came to a close.

”There’s a sign over here that says ”Adrenaline in my soul, I beat cancer to see Cody Rhodes.” I hope you don’t mind I’m going to come out and give this to you, alright?”

Cody Rhodes consistently makes time for his fans, which is a big reason why he’s one of the most beloved babyfaces in WWE today. However, the focus now shifts to how WWE will develop his storyline with Kevin Owens in the coming weeks. With Crown Jewel approaching, it’s clear there will be plenty of drama unfolding between the two.
