WWE SmackDown Results (10/18/2024):

The show opens up with video footage of top-level suit wearing men carrying a case that holds the Crown Jewel Championship into the Colonial Life Arena. We then get shots of Columbia, South Carolina as Corey Graves welcomes us to the show and sets up a video package recapping last week’s segments between Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso and The Bloodline. A recap of what happened between Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso on Monday’s RAW was shown as well.

The Bloodline (“The Tribal Chief” Solo Sikoa, “The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu and WWE Tag Team Champions “The Right Hand Man” Tama Tonga and “The Infamous” Tanga Loa) were then introduced by ring announcer Alicia Taylor and they made their way down to the ring. Wade Barrett welcomes us to the show as he joins Graves on commentary in place of Michael Cole and Graves says Michael Cole was out on special assignment.

Solo Sikoa starts off by demanding that Columbia acknowledge him, then tells fans that they are looking at the present and the future in The Bloodline. Sikoa then says he’s the man who created a bigger and stronger family and there’s nothing Roman Reigns or Jimmy Uso can do about it. Sikoa then addresses Jimmy looking to recruit Jey Uso to take down The Bloodline this past Monday on RAW, but says Jey wants nothing to do with any of this. Sikoa then says Reigns will continue to get beat down unless he comes down to the ring by the end of the night and acknowledges him. Jey Uso’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring through the crowd. Jey Uso tells Sikoa it’s been a minute since they’ve talked and says he’s not looking to fight him because he still cares about him and is his little brother. Jey Uso then says Jimmy isn’t in Columbia, but he’s here to talk to Sikoa uce to uce. Jey Uso then asks Sikoa to think about what he’s doing to their family and The Bloodline. Jey Uso then says no one has bigger issues with Reigns than him, but he left the family to be his own man and become the Intercontinental Champion. Jey Uso then says the ulafala is earned and not taken, then tells Sikoa to take Reigns’ power if he wants but not divide their family. Sikoa then says he’s trying to unite the family rather than divide it, then tells Jey Uso to stop calling him his little brother because he’s his Tribal Chief. Sikoa then asks Jey if he’s in or out, but Jey questions why he had to get Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa if his intention all along was to try and unite their family. Jey then says there was a reason they stayed away from them. Jey then tells Fatu that he will knock his ass out if he kept staring at him. Solo then places his arm up to keep Fatu calm. Jey then says he wasn’t here for that. Jey then says things will be different the next time he sees Solo. Jey then says yeet and tosses the mic aside.

Corey Graves then hypes the first #1 Contender’s Triple Threat Tag Team Match of the night that will lead to a shot at the WWE Tag Team Titles.

The Street Profits and B-Fab then make their way down to the ring for the first match of the night and #DIY and Pretty Deadly are already waiting inside.

WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Triple Threat Qualifying Match: #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) vs. The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) vs. Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince)

The match starts off with Tommaso Ciampa, Elton Prince and Montez Ford. Prince rolls out of the ring. Ciampa and Ford then begin brawling with each other before Ciampa chases Prince around the ring. Kit Wilson then nails Ciampa, but Angelo Dawkins hits Wilson with a pounce. Johnny Gargano then hits Dawkins with a tope suicida, then goes after Ford in the ring with Ciampa. Wilson then hits a codebreaker on Ciampa with some assistance from Prince and Prince goes for a pin, but Ciampa kicks out. Prince then hits an uppercut on Ciampa, then tags in Wilson. Prince then delivers some stomps on Ciampa in the corner as Wilson holds him in place. Ford then hits an enzuigiri on Gargano. Ciampa then hits a boot on Ford’s jaw, but Dawkins helps Ford in hitting a back suplex on Ciampa. Prince then tags in, but Ford hits a superkick on Wilson and climbs to the top. Prince then trips Ford, then tags Wilson back in. Wilson and Prince then look to double team on Ford, but Dawkins fights them off. The Profits then hit a Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex-Blockbuster combination to Prince and #DIY hits with Meet Me In The Middle on Wilson. Ciampa and Ford then goes for a pin on Wilson and Prince at the same time, but the referee clarifies that #DIY are the winners of the match seeing as Ciampa was legal and Ford was not.

Commentary then says they are scheduled to have Bayley and Naomi vs. Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton, but something happened backstage and they will share more details next.

We then head to the back and see Jey Uso run into Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso as they arrive at the arena. Jey was about to walk away, but Reigns grabs him by the arm and tells him he is proud of him regarding the Intercontinental Championship. Jey then says man no yeet and walks away. Reigns then tells Jimmy that he told him so.

We then head to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis’ office and see WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax yell at Tiffany Stratton for not being at the arena. Aldis then informs Jax that her and Stratton’s tag team match against Bayley and Naomi is still planned for tonight. Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell then show up and LeRae volunteers to be Jax’s new tag team partner seeing as Stratton can’t make it and Aldis agrees. Jax then says LeRae better hold up her end of the bargain or she will take her out in less than three minutes.

Piper Niven and Chelsea Green then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Meta-Four’s Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson follows.

Singles Match: Piper Niven vs. Meta-Four’s Lash Legend

The match starts off with Niven shoving Legend. Both women then lock up and Niven hits Legend with a shoulder tackle as we see Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair watching the action from backstage. Legend then hits a pump kick and a standing splash on Niven, but Niven responds with a senton. Niven then looks to hit a cannonball, but Legend moves out of the way and hits a couple of chops on Niven. Legend then gets Niven on her shoulders, but Niven escapes. Legend then hits a slam on Niven, but Green hops up on the apron. Jackson then sends her into the barricade on the outside and Niven takes advantage. Niven hits a splash on Jackson’s spine and looks to hit a Vader Bomb, but Legend avoids it and sends Niven crashing into the mat for the win.

After the match, we see Bianca Belair with her jaw dropped in reaction to Legend’s power moves. Legend and Jackson then jaw jacks at Belair and Cargill from the ring.

The men wearing suits earlier in the night were then shown carrying the Crown Jewel Championship case through the backstage area.

We then head to the back, where Roman Reigns is shown sitting on a couch and Jimmy Uso shows up. Jimmy tries to convince Roman to talk to Jey. Roman says if the Wiseman was there it would have already happened. Roman then says he is going to fix it later tonight. Jimmy then asks Roman how he will do that. Roman then says he is going to acknowledge Solo Sikoa.

Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes then makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE Universe. Cody Rhodes starts off by saying the WWE Crown Jewel Champion isn’t about who holds the title next or last, but first. Rhodes then says professional wrestling is full of what ifs and outcomes aren’t always satisfactory, but there will be a definitive Crown Jewel Champion. Rhodes then says he won’t disparage GUNTHER, but he wouldn’t bet against him. Rhodes then says fans have gotten to know him since he’s returned to WWE and he’s bleed, sweat and paid the price. Rhodes then says above all, he wants to become the inaugural Crown Jewel Champion for his daughter and invites GUNTHER to be on SmackDown next Friday. Cody then says he wanted to ask GUNTHER what he wants to talk about.

Commentary then talks about the video footage showing Kevin Owens attacking Cody Rhodes outside the venue after the WWE Bad Blood PLE. Commentary also talks about the video footage from last week’s Smackdown of Randy Orton punching Owens and being attacked by Owens outside the venue afterward.

We then get a promo from Kevin Owens coming to us from an undisclosed location. Owens talks about how long he’s been in WWE and how he takes issue with WWE officials telling him to stay home because of what he did to Cody after Bad Blood. Owens then calls it unfair and ridiculous and points out that wrestlers have done all sorts of things to one another. Owens then says he was told to stay home because he dropped their golden boy outside his bus. Owens then says he wonders how valued and appreciated he is by the company. Owens then says he can get over that, but he can’t get over Orton turning on him. Owens then says people can talk about how he turns on his friends, but he never would have done what Orton did to him. Owens then says Orton chose Cody over him. Owens then says he doesn’t know if or when he can come back given everything that has happened.

We then head to the back, where Randy Orton is shown entering SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis’ office. Orton tells Aldis that he needs to get his hands on Kevin Owens at Crown Jewel. Aldis then apologizes and says it’s not something he can do right now. Aldis then says it’s not what he wants, it’s that he can’t. Orton then gets fired up and says he’s not asking permission. Aldis then tells Orton that the decision came from upstairs. Orton then says he guesses he knows who he needs to talk to.

A-Town Down Under then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Los Garzas and the Motor City Machine Guns follow.

WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Triple Threat Qualifying Match: Los Garzas (Angel and Berto) vs. Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) vs. A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller)

The match starts off with Angel, Grayson Waller and Chris Sabin. Waller and Angel go after Sabin. Alex Shelley then tags in and the MGMC send Los Garzas and A-Town Down Under crashing out of the ring. Shelley then holds the middle rope open for Sabin to hit a tope suicida on Austin Theory and Los Garzas, then double teams on Waller on the outside from the apron. Berto then hits an enzuigiri on Shelley. Theory then hits Berto with a shoulder breaker, but Sabin tags in. Shelley then hits an Atomic Drop on Theory and double teams on him with Sabin, then hits an enzuigiri-boot combination on Berto with Shelley and follows it up with a Frog Splash-neckbreaker combination with him for the win.

Commentary then reveals that MCMG will face #DIY next week for a shot at the WWE Tag Team Titles.

We then head to the back, where Byron Saxton is interviewing Andrade and Carmelo Hayes. Saxton says they will meet in their game seven matchup next week on Smackdown. Andrade and Hayes then bickers and brawls until a couple of producers pulls Andrade back. Hayes then wraps a chain around his fist and hits Andrade. Nick Aldis then shows up and makes Hayes back off.

Naomi then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Bayley, Candice LeRae and WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax follows.

Tag Team Match: WWE Women’s Champion “The Irresistible Force” Nia Jax and Candice LeRae vs. Naomi and Bayley

The match starts off with Bayley and Nia Jax. Jax goes straight after Bayley. Naomi then tags in and hits an open palm strike on Jax, but Jax sends Naomi crashing into the mat face first and nails her with a senton. Bayley then tags in and nails LeRae with a clothesline. Bayley then hits a neckbreaker on LeRae using the middle rope as Naomi takes down Jax on the other side. Naomi then flies to land on Jax and Bayley sends LeRae back in the ring. Hartwell then nails Bayley from behind as LeRae distracts the referee, allowing LeRae to hit a moonsault on Bayley for the win.

After the match, Jax looked really grumpy and had the referee raise her arm. LeRae then had her arm raised by Indi Hartwell.

Commentary then announces the lineup of next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.

We then head to the back, where Byron Saxton is interviewing SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. Aldis says Andrade and Carmelo Hayes are no longer in the building because their series will be settled in the ring. Aldis then says he decided to add a special referee to the match. WWE United States Champion LA Knight then shows up and says he will call it down the middle while also warning that he will put them in their place if they get out of line and their championship aspirations will go up in smoke.

“The OTC” Roman Reigns then makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE Universe. Roman Reigns starts off by saying it might be for the last time, then tells the fans in Columbia to acknowledge him. Solo Sikoa’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Reigns and Sikoa then stare each other down and Reigns says Sikoa told Jey earlier tonight that their family and The Bloodline is stronger now. Reigns then says he doesn’t agree and he feels that their family is divided and broken. Reigns then says he told his father that he will fix this and all he wants to do is to have titles around the waists of their family and hefty paydays. Sikoa then tells Reigns that it’s an easy fix for him, but all he has to do to get it is acknowledge him. Reigns then acknowledges Sikoa, but Sikoa says that it is not good enough. Sikoa then says Reigns needs to acknowledge him as his Tribal Chief or else. Reigns then asks Sikoa what will happen if he doesn’t and Sikoa says Reigns never changes. Sikoa then says he never will either, then calls for Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa to make their way out. Fatu, Tonga and Loa then appear with Jimmy Uso in hand as Sikoa looks to blindside Reigns with a Samoan Spike. Reigns then sees him coming and sends him out of the ring, then nails the rest of The Bloodline and hits a Superman Punch on Sikoa. Reigns then spots the ulafala, then places it around his neck. Sikoa then low blows Reigns and beats him down along with Tonga, Loa and Fatu. Sikoa then hits a Samoan Spike on Reigns and Fatu places the ulafala around Sikoa’s neck. Sikoa then tells Reigns that he’s the Tribal Chief and that the fans should acknowledge him as the show comes to a close.
