Shotzi Blackheart’s road to recovery following her serious knee injury continues, but fans may have to wait a bit longer before they see her back in action.

According to an update from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, while Shotzi has made significant progress, she’s still not expected to return to the ring just yet.

“A good rule of thumb on anyone who sustains a torn ACL is to expect them out for a full year, and if you get them back sooner than that, great news,” Sapp reported. “Shotzi tore her ACL eight months ago, so I’d assume she still has some time out.”

Shotzi suffered the ACL tear during a February NXT TV taping while attempting her signature apron DDT, which left her in significant pain. Following surgery, she has been working her way back, and she recently confirmed via Instagram that she has resumed in-ring training, albeit with the aid of a knee brace.

In addition to her physical recovery, Shotzi has been preparing for her eventual return by working on a new “American Psycho” gimmick, as previously reported. The WWE Superstar also underwent stem cell therapy during her recovery, giving her a potential boost in healing. However, as Sapp’s update suggests, there’s still some time before Shotzi is fully cleared to return to action.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Shotzi’s return to NXT, but given the severity of her injury, patience remains key. For now, it appears that while her progress is promising, her return to the squared circle will likely happen after she reaches the full year mark in her recovery.
