Former WWE commentator Jonathan Coachman, known for his many memorable moments with the company, has been away from WWE for some time. He worked extensively with Vince McMahon during his time in the company and has now revealed how Vince McMahon set him up for an embarrassing moment.

Jonathan Coachman made his WWE debut in 1999 as an interviewer, commentator, and presenter. In 2003, he transitioned into an authority figure role. After leaving WWE in 2008, he made a comeback in January 2018 as a commentator for Raw. However, he was replaced in September of that same year and has not been seen in WWE since.

Jonathan Coachman was no stranger to embarrassing moments on live television. One of the most memorable took place during an episode of WWE RAW when he was sitting at the announcer’s desk with his feet up, talking to Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. Suddenly, Kane’s music hit, startling Coachman and causing him to fall off his chair, resulting in a funny moment for the audience.

When a fan asked him on Twitter if the incident was planned, Coachman explained that Vince McMahon had told him to put his feet on the desk to mess with Jim Ross’s flow. He noted that this was typical, as JR was a professional who had scripted lines for every entrance. Coachman didn’t think much of it at the time, but when Kane’s music played, it was so loud and intense that it caught him off guard, leading to the embarrassing fall.

“Vince told me to put my feet up on the desk and basically mess with JR’s flow which wasn’t unusual or out of the ordinary. JR is a pro and has stuff written for every entrance and if you spoke over he would lose it. So I wasn’t thinking anything of it. And this happened and it’s so loud and so hot this is real.”

Coachman also revealed how he was punished by WWE for not attending a Tribute to the Troops event in Afghanistan because he wanted to stay with his pregnant wife and that he has no intention of ever going back to WWE again. Coachman had to deal with a lot of embarrassment during his time working with Vince McMahon and fans can understand why he simply has no interest in returning to WWE now.
