WWE’s Bad Blood Premium Live Event on October 5 in Atlanta is being hailed as the most successful “B-level” PLE of 2024, thanks in large part to the involvement of Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and The Bloodline.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a WWE source revealed that these top stars were pivotal in driving fan interest and anticipation for the event.
“Cody is a workhorse champion who makes people happy they’ve engaged the product. Punk is the legit attraction he always wanted to be. The Bloodline business is booming,” Meltzer reported, reflecting the internal sentiment surrounding these key figures.
The event featured a stacked card, including the Hell in a Cell opener between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, which set the tone for the night. Despite speculation that this match would close the event, the main event spot was ultimately given to Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, who teamed up for the first time to face The Bloodline in an explosive tag match. The decision to close with this bout, which saw Reigns and Rhodes battling familiar foes, further highlighted The Bloodline storyline’s drawing power.
Adding to the buzz, The Rock made a surprise return at the end of the show, creating a moment that lit up social media. The excitement didn’t stop there—Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens were caught in a viral brawl outside the State Farm Arena, captured by fans and shared widely online, further fueling the event’s success.
WWE Bad Blood not only exceeded expectations but also reaffirmed the star power of its top attractions, proving that Rhodes, Punk, and The Bloodline are essential pillars of WWE’s current product.
