Brody King isn’t shy about his love for chaos, and the idea of Shane McMahon joining AEW seems to fit right into that mindset.
Speaking with Bill Apter for WrestleBinge, King shared his thoughts on the possibility of McMahon working with AEW, following reports of Tony Khan meeting with McMahon earlier this year.
“I don’t know, chaos? [Laughs] I feel like the whole Internet wrestling community would go up on fire that day. But that’s what I kind of live for—I live for the unexpected and the unpredictable,” King said, reflecting his excitement at the thought of such a surprising move.
In July, reports surfaced that Tony Khan had met with Shane McMahon to discuss potential opportunities, with a photo of their meeting surfacing online. Khan later confirmed the conversation, and The Young Bucks added to the speculation by posting a picture of themselves with McMahon.
King acknowledged McMahon’s unique path in the wrestling industry, emphasizing that McMahon’s passion for wrestling stands out despite his family’s legacy. “Whether it be good or bad, it would definitely get people talking,” King continued. “Shane has always been someone that’s kind of gone by his own drum. He never had to be the wrestler he was—he never had to be a wrestler at all, and he did. You could tell that he definitely has a passion for pro wrestling.”
King added that McMahon’s willingness to perform high-risk stunts and wrestle with professionals speaks to his dedication. “It’s easy to be the son of a rich guy, but to do the death-defying things he did and get in the ring with other pro wrestlers—that speaks a whole other volume to his character and him as a person.”
When asked how a potential match between himself and McMahon would go, King didn’t mince words: “He’d get broken in half.”
While it remains unclear if McMahon will officially step into AEW, it’s evident that the mere possibility of his involvement is enough to create buzz.
