The Undertaker is a legend in pro wrestling, having entertained fans for more than 30 years. Even though he’s retired, he still keeps an eye on what’s happening in wrestling today. The Deadman has been criticizing modern wrestling for a long time now, which didn’t sit well with an AEW personality who called him out for his comments.
Earlier this week, the WWE Hall of Famer made headlines for criticizing modern-day professional wrestlers for not having pride in the business. He didn’t just stop at that as The Deadman also criticized current day wrestlers for their in-ring abilities and stated how there isn’t storytelling in the ring anymore.
While speaking during an interview on Eyes Up Here with Francine, RJ City praised Toni Storm for her dedication to her character, likening her to The Undertaker in terms of fully embracing a unique persona. However, City didn’t hold back when it came to criticizing The Undertaker’s recent criticism of modern pro wrestling.
RJ City criticized The Undertaker’s podcast for being horrible and called The Phenom out for his remarks about the state of wrestling, questioning the credibility of his statements and taking a dig at his long-standing persona as “The Deadman.”
”I’ve haven’t seen anyone so wrapped up in a whole thing that is unique to themselves (like Toni Storm) since, I don’t know, The Undertaker? And she’s not doing half-ass horrible podcast now. She’s not wearing weird problematic shirts and being like, ‘wrestling is not telling stories.’ Thanks, Mark. I really appreciate it. His show is weird. The guy is weird. He’s a weird man. ‘Back in my day it was a lot better.’ I’m sorry, were you always dead? Did you start off dead? Would you like to explain that?”
The Undertaker also believes many pro wrestlers nowadays are fixated on light tubes. While he’s entitled to his opinion, not everyone agrees with his views on today’s wrestling. RJ City, for example, has openly disagreed with what The Undertaker has said about the current state of the business.
