One of the more entertaining aspects of the Attitude Era in WWE was Al Snow but he was also controversial due to his head gimmick. In fact, there was a plan for Al Snow’s famous head to make a return at WWE WrestleMania 40, but it didn’t end up happening.

Karrion Kross talked about this on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, explaining that he wanted to use Al Snow’s head as a nod to ECW. However, WWE did not approve its use as a weapon.

Kross had some wild ideas for weapons in his match, especially since it took place in Philadelphia, a city known for its ECW history. He even mentioned that Paul Heyman was being inducted into the Hall of Fame at the time. One of his ideas was to hit Snoop Dogg, who was on commentary, with Al Snow’s head. Kross imagined doing a flying dive out of the ring aimed at Snoop Dogg, which he thought would have been an entertaining moment.

“I had a list of insane weapons that I wish got approved for that match. It was Philly, I was in love with ECW, Heyman got inducted into the Hall of Fame. I had all kinds of crazy stuff. One of the weapons on the list was Al Snow’s head. I would have loved to have hit Snoop Dogg right in the head with Head. That would have been my move. I would have done a flying tope out of the ring flying at Snoop Dogg over the table to hit him. That would have been great.”

As noted already, Al Snow’s head was a significant part of his gimmick during the 1990s and 2000s in both ECW and WWE. Kross also cleared the air on rumored backstage issues he had with Bobby Lashley. Nonetheless, fans would have likely loved to have seen Al Snow’s head return but it ultimately never happened.
