Last year, WWE and UFC merged under the TKO umbrella, creating a major change in the world of sports entertainment. With this new partnership, UFC fighter Tom Aspinall has now expressed interest in joining WWE once he retires from UFC competition.
On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, WWE’s live event in Manchester, England, highlighted three world champions. The show featured Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, WWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER, and a surprise appearance by UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall.
Aspinall, who recently became UFC’s interim heavyweight champion after Jon “Bones” Jones, stepped into the ring during a segment involving Rhodes and GUNTHER, adding an unexpected twist to the event.
While speaking to The Sun, Tom Aspinall revealed his plans for the future. He shared that once he retires from MMA, he intends to make the switch to WWE. Aspinall confidently stated that he aims to become the WWE Heavyweight Champion after his MMA career ends.
“When I have retired from MMA, I’m switching over to WWE. And I’m going to be the WWE heavyweight champ.”
Even Paddy Pimblett wants to make an appearance in WWE in the future and UFC fighter Derrick Lewis was in talks for a potential WWE crossover. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see when Tom Aspinall will make his way to WWE, as he could certainly find success there.
