Karrion Kross, known for his intense presence and relentless wrestling style, has been largely involved on WWE television as part of his Final Testament faction. However, he saw great success in NXT in the past and has now addressed potentially having another full-time run in NXT.

Karrion Kross is a two-time NXT Champion and he was truly dominant during his time in WWE’s developmental brand before his eventual firing and return back in 2022. While he did make brief appearances on NXT again this year, he hasn’t had a full-time run there.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Karrion Kross was asked if he ever thought about going back to NXT for a full-time run. He acknowledges that NXT is focused on building new stars for the future, and while some might encourage him to return and cater to the audience’s desires, he feels it wouldn’t be fair to the up-and-coming talent. Kross understands what it’s like to be someone striving to make a name for themselves, and he believes that having a veteran come back and take a prominent spot would block opportunities for others who need the chance to rise.

Though he’s proud of his work in NXT, Kross doesn’t think it would be right for him to return full-time, as it wouldn’t benefit the newer talent trying to establish themselves. He admits that a one-off match or special program could be exciting and fun for the fans, but returning to dominate the roster would only serve his own interests. Instead, he believes the focus should remain on the next generation of wrestlers, who are learning and developing under the guidance of the experienced staff in NXT.

“Sometimes I do, but the truth of the matter is, in my opinion, NXT is a program where they’re attempting to build new stars. They want to create stars for the future. Somebody could encourage me to selfishly say yes and try to pander to an audience, listening and making them feel like that’s something that they want. I know what it’s like being someone coming up, trying to get something you’re after, and it sucks when somebody comes in who’s already had their shot, who’s already been there, who was already basically given everything you could possibly want—undefeated with a championship—and you got the whole thing. It’s like they’re coming back in here, and now that spot is unavailable for someone who really needs it to move into.

I’m so grateful and so proud of my work at NXT, but for the sake of everybody else down there, I don’t think I should be down there doing it. I really don’t. If I were to come back for a match that people would want to see, like a one-off or some sort of program that would be fun to watch, that’s different. But to go back down there and chainsaw through everybody? That’s not going to help them. It would help me, and people would love it. I’d make sure they love it. There would be a body count; there’d be bodies everywhere—there’d be people flying down the stairs, Chris, down the stairs. But for the functionality of the program, there are new people coming up, and the business needs those people. They’re learning, and they’ve got all the best minds down there.”

We will have to wait and see whether Karrion Kross will end up returning to NXT even if it’s for another one-off match, as fans feel there are a lot of things he can offer to the younger generation of talent.
