Michael Cole, WWE’s veteran commentator, has found himself in many unique situations throughout his career. He has earned a lot of respect for dedicating several years to WWE and Jerry Lawler admits he is surprised Michael Cole hasn’t been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame yet.

Michael Cole joined WWE in 1997 and became the lead announcer by 1998. He first replaced Jim Ross on WWE Raw and later became the main commentator for WWE SmackDown when it started in 1999. Over the years, his voice has become a big part of WWE shows, and wrestling fans know him well. Earlier this year, Cole signed a new contract with WWE. While the length of the contract isn’t clear, it confirms that he’ll continue being a part of WWE broadcasts for a long time.

In an interview with Bill Apter for Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Jerry “The King” Lawler talked about Michael Cole. Lawler said he is surprised Cole hasn’t been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and thinks he is a great commentator.

Lawler reflected on his time in WWE and mentioned working with different partners, including Vince McMahon and Jim Ross. He enjoyed working with McMahon, saying he was really good at his job. Lawler described Jim Ross as a natural talent, noting that he still does commentary in AEW. After working with Ross, Lawler teamed up with Cole, who he also found to be a natural at commentary.

“I’m surprised he’s not in the Hall of Fame. But he’s great. He was terrific. I can’t tell you, they put me with a lot of different partners. First of all, JR…first, I was partners with Vince McMahon. I loved working with him. He was so good at what he did. Then from there, I went with JR, and he was just a natural, and he’s still doing it with AEW. I do [still talk to him]. Then after JR, along came Michael, and he was just a natural too.”

Even Jim Ross previously stated that Michael Cole outshines him in commentary.  WWE prepares to enter new era with its move to Netflix, Michael Cole will continue to perform his duties to the best of his ability and so it remains to be seen when Michael Cole will receive his Hall of Fame induction, as fans feel he more than deserves it now.
