The allegations from Janel Grant against Vince McMahon have greatly damaged his reputation as a business leader. Claims of sex trafficking and sexual abuse have overshadowed McMahon’s legacy in the entertainment world. Recently, Grant’s spokesperson shared insights into her mental state as she navigates this challenging situation.
Janel Grant accused Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis of serious misconduct, including sexual assault, emotional abuse, and sex trafficking, with allegations dating back to March 2019 and a lot of things have come to light after the lawsuit was made in January this year. WWE previously joined McMahon in filing a motion to compel arbitration, signaling a concerted effort to resolve the dispute privately.
Recently, Kendra Barkoff, Grant’s spokesperson, spoke to Wrestlenomics about how Grant is coping with the ongoing legal case. Barkoff explained that it has been very difficult for Grant, who is still dealing with the trauma of what happened to her. However, she praised Grant’s strength and commitment to seeking justice, saying that Grant wants McMahon and WWE to be held responsible for their actions.
Barkoff expressed great respect for Grant’s bravery in facing these challenges and noted how hard it is for her to confront these painful memories every day. She emphasized that the experiences described in the lawsuit are truly horrific, showing just how courageous Grant is for pursuing this case.
“I mean it is not easy. I think on the call, her lawyer Ann Callis talked about how she is still feeling the post-trauma of what she experienced. There’s a lot of issues that she’s still working through. But let me tell you, she is a strong, courageous woman. She is here for the fight. She is here to take this and make sure the proceedings go the way they need to go in order for Mr. McMahon and WWE to be held accountable.” Barkoff continued to elaborate on the courage Grant displays by pursuing this case.
“A lot of people wouldn’t be doing what she’s doing, and I give her so much respect. I have so much admiration for her, because it’s gotta be hard for her to get up each and every day,” Barkoff said. “If your viewers read the complaint, the stuff that she did experience as a person is just horrific. I mean you could never imagine the stuff she experienced on your worst enemy.”
This legal action in Connecticut Superior Court in Stamford follows the federal lawsuit, which is currently on hold pending federal investigation and will later this year. In the meantime, Vince McMahon has been trying to fix his tarnished reputation, but the Netflix documentary did him no favors. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see how the trafficking lawsuit will progress once the federal investigation concludes.
