AEW has pulled in a lot of former WWE Superstars, and many fans were expecting MVP and Bobby Lashley. Even though the Almighty hasn’t returned to television just yet, Shelton Benjamin was a welcomed addition to the AEW roster.

Plenty of fans were shocked to see Shelton Benjamin debut during the October 2 AEW Dynamite. It didn’t take long for his in-ring debut to get booked and that went down during the October 16 AEW Dynamite.

MVP and Shelton Benjamin actually appeared in the episode as MVP extended his card to The Acclaimed. It doesn’t seem like they’re interested in teaming up with the former Hurt Business leader.

Shelty took on Lio Rush during his first match in Tony Khan’s company. Of course, Rush is also a former WWE Superstar who ended up in the land of All Elite.

This was an impressive debut for Shelton Benjamin on AEW television, but Lio Rush put up an incredible fight. Rush was outmatched when it came to height and size, but he fought uphill the whole time.

Rush was able to land a few good moves, including a tornado DDT to take Shelton Benjamin down, but in the end, Shelton Benjamin shut Lio Rush down.

Shelton Benjamin landed a huge suplex on Lio Rush followed by another move, an exploder powerslam, to finish off the match for a clean win. This was a big start for Shelton Benjamin in AEW, and he did so in an impressive fashion. After the match was over, MVP left his business card for Lio Rush.
