Lexis King’s contract with AEW ended last year, and he was immediately training at the WWE Performance Center to improve his skills. Now a bonafide NXT star, he holds a deep respect for his father, Brian Pillman, and is now advocating for his father to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
King is the son of the late Brian Pillman, who passed away on October 5, 1997, when King was just four years old. Unsurprisingly, his father remains a vocal point about his NXT career as well.
Brian Pillman was a leading cruiserweight in the U.S. during the early 90s and became famous for his character “The Loose Cannon.” His son, Lexis King, hopes to see him inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Lexis took to Twitter and stated that his main goal in wrestling has always been to honor his father’s legacy and ensure that Brian Pillman is remembered as the legendary performer he was, deserving of a place in the Hall of Fame.
”Just speaking as Pillman Jr. here for a moment. This is all I ever wanted. My goal from day one in wrestling has always been to bring enough attention to the Pillman name, to remind us all of this legendary performer so that he could take his rightful spot in the hall of fame.”
Lexis King even previously stated that his getting an action figure release alongside his father was a dream come true. Nonetheless, we’ll have to wait and see whether Brian Pillman will eventually get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame somewhere down the line.
