Kevin Owens ‘Very Close’ to Signing New Deal with WWE

Kevin Owens has been a mainstay on WWE television since his debut in NXT in 2014, accumulating several titles during his time with the company. There was a lot of speculation regarding his contractual status with WWE and it appears he is very close to signing a new deal.

Back in December 2021, after a lot of speculation about whether Kevin Owens would stay with WWE or not, it was revealed that Owens signed another contract with WWE, which was said to be multi-year deal.

Earlier this year, Kevin Owens confirmed that there had been no changes to his contract status; it is simply nearing its end. Kevin Owens had not signed a contract extension with WWE and his future with WWE remained uncertain. In fact, many believed there was a chance he would go to AEW.

”During an interview with Metro UK back in May, Owens revealed that his current deal is set to expire in the early part of next year. He tells The Takedown on SI that the only change in his contract status since then is that there’s now less time on his deal.”

According to WrestleVotes on a Backstage Pass Q&A, Kevin Owens is very close to re-signing with WWE. WrestleVotes mentioned that while they didn’t receive a clear confirmation on whether the deal has been officially signed, the feedback they received was very positive. It was suggested that if the contract isn’t already finalized, it’s likely close to being completed with a handshake agreement, indicating Owens may be staying with WWE for the long term.

“I did reach out, talked to a couple of people. Didn’t get a definite one way or the other, didn’t get an absolutely the deal’s been signed, but did get a really positive response that it’s very close if not completed with a handshake. So I’d imagine that he’s around for the long term.”

This is certainly great news for fans of Kevin Owens who feel he should remain with WWE for his entire career. Considering he is currently involved in a big angle with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, Owens re-signing with the company is simply the right decision.
