Adam Cole’s AEW return during AEW WrestleDream 2024. It was already reported that Adam Cole’s return to the ring is expected soon. It was later confirmed that he was in Tacoma for the pay-per-view, and that’s exactly where he came back. During the October 16 AEW Dynamite, Cole made his first mark on television since his injury.

Despite his injury, Adam Cole has remained active in AEW storylines, most notably betraying MJF at Worlds End in December, forming The Undisputed Kingdom with Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Roderick Strong, and Wardlow. His last appearance on AEW television was during Double or Nothing in May, where an in-ring confrontation with MJF led to Cole being written off TV.

This week’s AEW Dynamite kicked off with Jon Moxley making some very brutal statements. Then it was time for Adam Cole to make his return, and he did so to pop the crowd in a big way.

Everyone was ready for story time with Adam Cole, bay-bay. He started off by saying that he must go out there by himself, and he’s damn happy to be back in the ring.

He then quickly directed his attention to MJF, who he considers the worst human being that’s ever walked the planet. He learned a lot over the last year, and he learned that “sometimes you have to fight evil with evil.” MJF may have his own narrative, because “Adam Cole may be a lot of things, but stupid isn’t one of them.”

Cole called MJF “fake,” and said that even his hair took two surgeries to get on his head. He said that MJF is a “scared little boy,” and he encouraged everyone to trash MJF on social media, because he will be crying by himself in his hotel room as he acts like he doesn’t care.

Adam Cole gave love to the AEW locker room, with people who will carry AEW into the future, but “it makes me sick to my stomach to imagine that these young guys are looking at MJF going ‘that is the path to success.'” He said that MJF’s path is one of failure and loneliness. Then he swore that everyone hates MJF, especially him.

Then Adam Cole suggested that he fight MJF right then and there in San Jose. The fans seemed to like that idea. MJF’s music blasted out after that, but MJF only appeared on the big screen to address his former best friend.

MJF spoke about how he never let his guard down until Adam Cole came around, but then he was betrayed. He said that everything he does is Adam Cole’s fault, “yet these unwashed heathens cheer you?” He said he will dangle the carrot of revenge in front of Cole, but he will never give him what he wants.

Adam Cole fired back to say that MJF can run, but he can’t hide, and he promised to give MJF “the ass beating of a lifetime and make you wish that we never met.” This rivalry is still going, and only time will tell when the two finally collide in the ring.
