WWE values tradition and aims to keep momentum going when it truly matters. With Saturday Night’s Main Event making a comeback this year, it appears that the company has big plans in store for the event.
Saturday Night’s Main Event, which originally aired instead of Saturday Night Live 29 times, hasn’t been on TV since short revivals in 2006 and 2008. That’s exactly why WWE is bringing back this classic show through a new deal with NBC, with plans for four prime-time specials each year.
The big return of Saturday Night’s Main Event is set for December 14 at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY. It will air at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and be simulcast on Peacock. WWE is making sure fans have an exciting experience at the event already.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event show and noted that WWE plans to ensure that the show will have a Premium Live Event quality card, which means it will definitely be a must-see event for fans.
“It’s supposed to be a pay-per-view quality card.”
Meltzer also previously reported that with WWE planning a “shoot-style” presentation for Kevin Owens and Randy Orton’s upcoming match, it’s expected that this match will take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event as well. Fans are already excited about the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event, a show that helped start the Rock and Wrestling Connection and was key in WWE’s growth across the country. We’ll have to wait and see if WWE goes all out to make sure the event is a great success.
