WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle remains one of the most accomplished and beloved pro wrestlers of all time. He has worked under Vince McMahon and is well aware of how he operates and has now revealed how McMahon once fined him thousands of dollars.

Kurt Angle is famous for his outstanding rookie year and his legendary status in wrestling, but he has not stepped into the ring for over five years. His last match was against Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35 in 2019, which marked his final appearance in the ring, and he has not competed since then.

While speaking on Notsam Wrestling, Kurt Angle recalled working on skits with Stone Cold Steve Austin, which host Sam Roberts compared to Saturday Night Live scenes where performers try to make each other break character. Angle revealed that Vince McMahon once fined him for breaking character during these skits.

McMahon had warned that anyone who laughed or broke character would face a fine, as it had been an issue in previous sessions. Due to this, Angle was fined a total of $8,000 for four instances of breaking character. After that, he became more focused and determined not to lose more money, managing to stay in character for future skits.

“Vince (McMahon) said, ‘Hey, we’re going to do these pre-tapes, but last week was a disaster because you guys kept breaking characters. You guys kept laughing. So, this week, if you break character, you get fined $2,000.’ So, I got fined $8,000 because I broke character four different times. I started getting serious. I was like, ‘I can’t do that anymore, I’m going to lose all my money.’ So, I wouldn’t break character anymore, I don’t know how I was able to do it.”

Perhaps that is why Kurt Angle was disappointed he never got to wrestle Vince McMahon in WWE. Regardless, The Olympic Gold Medalist has managed to give fans countless memories during his time in WWE, and he wouldn’t change them for anything.

Do you believe it was unfair that Vince Mc Mahon fined Kurt Angle so much money simply for breaking character? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
