Grayson Waller Calls Out John Cena for Match As Part of Retirement Tour

Grayson Waller has established himself as one of the most outspoken heels in all of WWE right now. There is no WWE Superstar that he is scared of and that includes even the legendary John Cena. That’s why it comes as no surprise that he has now called out Cena for a match as part of his retirement tour.

At the 2024 WWE Money in the Bank event in Toronto, John Cena announced his retirement from professional wrestling. John Cena stated that he will be part of WWE RAW’s move to Netflix. He also revealed that his last wrestling appearances will be at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania in 2025. Instead of having just one retirement match, Cena plans to go on a farewell tour throughout 2025, which will include several matches leading up to his official retirement in December 2025.

While speaking during a recent interview with Wide World of Sports, Grayson Waller called out John Cena, saying he still has unfinished business with him. Waller and Cena faced each other at Money in the Bank 2023, and Cena appeared on The Grayson Waller Effect during the September 15, 2023, episode of SmackDown.

Waller wants to be challenged by Cena, calling him “the measuring stick” in wrestling. He mentioned that while he has talked with Cena, he hasn’t had a chance to fight him in the ring. Waller believes that wrestling Cena can prove how good someone is, as many wrestlers have become successful after facing him.

“I’ve had the opportunity to be in there with him on the microphone, but I’ve never had the opportunity to be tested by him in the ring. And I think that’s what Cena does: test people. He’s a measuring stick. You go against John Cena; you show that you belong. So many guys have gone in there and afterwards gone on to big things because they passed the test. And I want the hottest test, and I think that is it.”

Waller is eager to get a match with Cena before he retires, promising to say whatever it takes to make it happen. He is ready to go all out and show that he deserves to compete against Cena before he ends his wrestling career.

“If he’s only here for one more year, I’m gonna say whatever I have to say to make that happen. I’m gonna say the meanest things possible. And I already know I have his attention, and I think it’s time to double down and really show that I’m the kinda guy that you put in against Cena at the end.”

We will have to wait and see whether the Australian loudmouth and John Cena will square off against each other next year as part of Cena’s retirement tour, as fans feel the match would be a must-see and it most definitely should happen.
