The Undertaker’s impact on pro wrestling is undeniable, having dedicated over 30 years to entertaining fans. Even though he’s retired, he continues to follow the current wrestling scene. Recently, he shared his thoughts, criticizing that many wrestlers today don’t have the same pride in being a professional wrestler as previous generations did.

The WWE Hall of Famer has always maintained his character throughout his career, as it was very obvious he has been very respectful of the industry and being proud of being a professional wrestler in general.

While speaking on a recent episode of his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker talked about kayfabe and how the magic of wrestling isn’t protected like it used to be. Undertaker said there’s a big push now to show what really happens behind the scenes. He mentioned that while today’s wrestlers are more athletic and talented, many don’t have the same pride in being a professional wrestler. Some still care about it, but overall, he feels that the dedication to keeping wrestling’s traditions alive isn’t as strong anymore.

“There is such a concerted effort to let everyone know what it is that we do. ‘We try to protect the magic.’ No we don’t. It’s wide open. There is no pride in the industry and what it is. They don’t have the same kind of pride. Yes, they are great performers, they can do great things, they are more athletic than we ever were. That’s great. There are some, but overall, the majority, they don’t have the pride of being a professional wrestler.”

This isn’t the only time The Undertaker criticized modern-day professional wrestling as he believes many pro wrestlers nowadays are fixated on light tubes. Nonetheless, The Phenom will never be afraid to speak his mind, especially when it comes to the business and he has no intention of changing that.
