Mark and Jay Briscoe were hailed as one of the greatest tag teams in the history of professional wrestling, as they won numerous tag team accolades all over the world. With that said, it appears there were plans for them to debut in WWE but those plans were ultimately scrapped.

Mark and Jay Briscoe began their pro wrestling careers when they were still teenagers and they made a name for themselves in Ring of Honor, capturing several titles there. By the mid-2010s, they were already an established tag team, having competed in numerous companies. That’s why fans were surprised that they never got to work in WWE in the first place.

While speaking to Aiptcomics, Mark Briscoe revealed that WWE had previously tried to bring him and Jay Briscoe in. He revealed that they were set to debut alongside the Wyatt Family on the July 8, 2013 episode of Monday Night Raw in Baltimore, Maryland. However, an unfortunate tweet from his brother Jay ended up canceling those plans.

We were going to debut with the Wyatt Family.”

Jay Briscoe tragically passed away following a fatal car accident on January 17th, 2023. It is certainly a shame The Briscoes never got to debut in WWE as fans felt they would have been a great fit for the company. Regardless, Mark Briscoe is more than happy working in AEW right now and he couldn’t have asked for anything else.
