Shinsuke Nakamura has been a mainstay in WWE for more than eight years, following his departure from NJPW to pursue a career in the United States. Despite his undeniable talent, Nakamura’s 2024 win-loss record paints a concerning picture.
Shinsuke Nakamura last appeared on WWE TV during the April 22 edition of RAW, where he was defeated by Sheamus. Since then, the WWE Superstar has competed in two post-Draft dark matches, losing to Cody Rhodes and Braun Strowman, but has not participated in any televised Friday night matches. Nakamura’s record for 2024 includes just one Premium Live Event, eight televised bouts, four dark matches, and 38 non-televised live event appearances.
WWE recently kicked off a four-night UK tour at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff, Wales, where Nakamura returned to action after over a month, challenging LA Knight for the United States Championship. The match ended when Knight avoided Nakamura’s running corner kick and quickly countered with the BFT, securing the pinfall and retaining his title.
According to Cagematch, Shinsuke Nakamura has only won two out of his 51 matches this year and his current win rate is only 3.9% while he has an overwhelming loss rate of 96.1% and many fans are incredibly shocked by how the Japanese Superstar is faring in WWE lately.
Sean Ross Sapp recently reported that Shinsuke Nakamura is healthy but just isn’t factored into WWE’s creative plans, which is why he has not been seen on television for so long. Nakamura hasn’t been featured in a proper title program since his feud with Seth Rollins over the WWE World Heavyweight Championship last year, so we’ll have to wait and see if WWE will eventually have something better planned for the King of Strong Style, as fans feel he more than deserves it.
