Adam Cole’s ankle injury, sustained at AEW Grand Slam last year, resulted in fractures in three different areas and significantly affected his wrestling career. After a lot of anticipation, he made his long-awaited return at WrestleDream last week, and has now shared his first comments following his return.
At AEW Double or Nothing in May, Adam Cole cut a promo that led to MJF’s return from injury. This led to a confrontation where MJF attacked Cole, taking him off TV and making fans think their feud was finished.
During the WrestleDream event, Daniel Garcia interrupted Jack Perry after his TNT Title match with Katsuyori Shibata. However, MJF surprisingly returned and stopped Garcia. MJF mentioned that while he was away, he had been making movies and a lot of money. He also said he got his Dynamite Diamond ring back from the pawn shop where Daniel had sold it.
As MJF was about to attack Garcia with the ring, Adam Cole made his shocking return. While Cole didn’t get physical with The Salt of the Earth, his presence was enough to make MJF run away. Fans also noticed Cole running without any signs of injury, suggesting he might be ready to wrestle again.
Adam Cole took to his Twitter account and uploaded a photo of himself at AEW WrestleDream, as he rejoiced in making his long-awaited return at the pay-per-view for good measure.
”Guess who’s back. #BOOM #AdamColeBayBay”
We have also reported that Adam Cole has officially been cleared to return to the ring, so fans can expect him to compete again as soon as possible. Therefore, it remains to be seen how AEW will book Cole in the coming weeks, as he will now be a permanent fixture of AEW television.
