The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson have faced criticism over their personalities and the image they project. They also ended up winning at AEW WrestleDream and retaining their tag team titles and they have now addressed reports of there being a backstage push for Private Party to win the AEW Tag Titles.
At AEW WrestleDream 2024, The Young Bucks defended their AEW World Tag Team Championships against Private Party. The match was thrilling and featured many close calls, with the crowd increasingly supporting Private Party. However, despite their hard work, Private Party couldn’t secure the win, allowing The Young Bucks to retain their titles and extend their reign to over 171 days.
According to Fightful Select, many people backstage were hoping Private Party would win at WrestleDream and claim their first AEW titles after debuting five years ago. Their storyline focused on proving themselves again after an earlier victory over The Young Bucks didn’t elevate their status. Despite the push for Private Party to win, the decision was made to allow The Young Bucks to retain their titles.
The Young Bucks are obviously aware of such reports, as they took to Twitter and addressed the same. They channelled Hulk Hogan and stated that Private Party winning the titles just didn’t work for them.
”That doesn’t work for us, brother.”
Although it was disappointing that Private Party didn’t win the AEW World Tag Team Titles at WrestleDream, fans hope that the company will eventually give them a chance to win tag team gold. Many believe they deserve this accolade after working hard for over five years.
