There are quite a few teams in AEW that have been in the company since the very beginning and the most popular among them is undoubtedly Private Party. The duo were unable to beat The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Titles and it appears there were people backstage who were pushing for Private Party to walk out the champions.

At AEW WrestleDream 2024, The Young Bucks defended their AEW World Tag Team Championships against Private Party. The match was exciting, with lots of close calls, and the crowd started cheering more for Private Party. Despite their best effort, Private Party couldn’t win, and The Young Bucks held onto their titles, extending their reign to over 171 days.

According to Fightful Select, many people backstage there were pushing for Private Party to win at WrestleDream and get their first AEW titles since debuting five years ago. Their storyline was about trying to prove themselves again after an early win over The Young Bucks didn’t make them stars. However, the decision was made to let The Young Bucks keep the titles, even though many pushed for Private Party to win.

While it was certainly a disappointment that Private Party was unable to win the AEW World Tag Team Titles at WrestleDream, perhaps the company will eventually have them win tag team gold, as fans feel they more than deserve the accolade after working so hard for over five years.
