AEW consistently delivers top-tier in-ring performances, showing off incredible wrestling talent with each show. The Battle of the Belts series has been a fan favorite, offering some of the most exciting matches on AEW’s lineup. However, the future of this special event now seems uncertain after AEW secured their new media rights deal, leaving fans wondering if it will continue as part of AEW’s programming.

After months of rumors and speculation, AEW officially secured a multi-year media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, reportedly worth $555 million over three years. AEW’s new deal with Warner Bros. Discovery secures the continuation of Dynamite and Collision on the network, further solidifying their presence as part of their weekly programming. However, AEW Rampage, which has faced declining ratings, is not part of the new agreement. Both Rampage and TruTV were absent from the official announcement, and AEW has confirmed that Rampage will air its final episode at the end of 2024. Due to Rampage’s eventual cancellation, fans wondered what would happen to Battle of the Belts.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about the status of Battle of the Belts. Meltzer revealed that AEW’s new deal with Warner Bros. Discovery does not include Battle of the Belts. Therefore, the future of this long-running special is now uncertain.

“This new deal doesn’t include Battle for the Belts.’

Ultimately, the fate of Battle of the Belts remains uncertain, so we’ll have to see if it will eventually make its way back to AEW programming or simply get shelved like Rampage.
