Although The Rock may play a heel role in WWE right now, Dwayne Johnson’s ability to inspire and motivate outside the ring hasn’t diminished at all. He recently proved that with a viral video as he spoke to a very special group of young men who had been through a lot this year.
The Rock posted on Instagram to showcase his pregame pep talk skills as he spoke to the Apalachee High Football Team. He was there to support this team that saw tragedy at their school in September.
The caption that The Final Boss provided explained how much of an honor he had to speak to these young football players. Even if their season isn’t an undefeated benchmark, they are still doing big things to achieve a greater purpose. He also considered it an honor to be there and provide those words of motivation.
“An honor to say a few pregame words to the Apalachee High Football Team, seconds before they took their home field in their first game back, after these incredibly brave kids endured a tragic mass shooting at their school on Sept 4th. These players & coaches all play now with a higher purpose and greater intention. Win or lose, they’re all undefeated in the game of life. It was my honor to be in this room.”
On September 4, 2024, a mass shooting took place at Apalachee High School near Winder, Georgia. The suspect, 14-year-old Colt Gray, allegedly opened fire, resulting in the deaths of two students and two teachers, with nine others injured. This is a terrible tragedy that we wouldn’t wish on anyone, and their football team is a testament of strength and endurance through it all.
We will have to see what The Rock is able to next in WWE. He may not be wrestling at WrestleMania 41 next year after all, which is likely the reason why he showed up during Bad Blood 2024. Only time will tell where that road leads the Great One, but he couldn’t miss this opportunity to provide a motivational speech to those players.
