Swerve Strickland made his highly anticipated return to AEW at WrestleDream, and he didn’t waste any time making waves. After being sidelined since AEW All Out, Swerve, accompanied by Prince Nana, addressed the crowd, sharing his frustration at no longer holding the AEW World Title and announcing he is now medically cleared to compete again.

But things took an unexpected turn when MVP appeared, bringing along Shelton Benjamin to confront Swerve and Nana. MVP didn’t mince words, pointing to his impressive career and history of managing champions, stating, “My resume speaks for itself.” He made it clear that he saw something in Swerve from the beginning, referencing their past match at DEFY, and expressed his desire to do business together.

Swerve acknowledged MVP’s contributions, especially as a trailblazer for Black wrestlers like himself, but made it clear where his loyalty lies. Despite some frustrations with Prince Nana, including a jab about Nana’s side hustle, Swerve remained steadfast, telling MVP he doesn’t turn his back on family. In a bold statement, Swerve rejected MVP’s offer in no uncertain terms, saying, “You can shove those business cards up your ass.”

Things escalated quickly when Shelton Benjamin stepped in, telling Swerve he had misread the situation and making it clear that it was time to choose sides. Tensions boiled over as the two men shoved each other before officials intervened, preventing a full-blown altercation.

This heated confrontation follows MVP’s recent debut at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, where he first approached Prince Nana, criticizing his management of Swerve and leaving him his business card. Now, with Swerve rejecting MVP’s offer, it seems the stage is set for an even deeper rivalry between these factions.

What do you think about Swerve’s decision to stick with Prince Nana? Should he have taken MVP’s offer, or did he make the right call staying loyal to family? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
