The Learning Tree challenged Mark Briscoe to a match at WrestleDream 2024, taking a shot at the legacy of the Briscoe Brothers tag team. Jericho went so far as to claim that Jay Briscoe, Mark’s late brother, was the better of the two, bringing his name into the feud.
At WrestleDream, the match between Chris Jericho and Mark Briscoe got underway without a handshake, with both men brawling on the outside of the ring from the start. Jericho locked in The Walls, and Mark struggled to reach the ropes. After a long struggle, Briscoe finally grabbed the bottom rope. Bryan Keith attacked Briscoe, but only managed a two-count before Rocky Romero intervened and fought off Keith.
Back in the ring, Briscoe hit Jericho in the face and set up a chair, launching himself over the ropes onto Jericho, sending them both through a table at ringside. The match continued with Jericho regaining control, but Briscoe refused to be pinned.
Jericho hit Briscoe with multiple strikes, but Briscoe fought back even stronger, delivering a series of moves that included a Death Valley Driver and an elbow drop from the top rope. Mark then hit a J-Driller to secure the victory over Jericho.
