Jimmy Jacobs has officially wrapped up his time with All Elite Wrestling.

Jacobs, who joined AEW in June 2023, has resigned from his position, with sources via Fightful Select indicating that the split was amicable. The decision comes after Jacobs experienced burnout, and both sides agreed it was time for a change.

During his tenure, Jacobs had been one of the most involved individuals on the AEW writing team, working closely with Tony Khan at nearly every event. His departure is seen by AEW as an opportunity to “freshen up” the writers’ room and bring new perspectives to their creative process.

Before joining AEW, Jacobs made a name for himself in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, and he also spent time working for WWE. In addition to his writing work, Jacobs occasionally competed in ROH while still under AEW’s umbrella. His most recent ROH match was a memorable one—though not necessarily for his in-ring performance. During his entrance, the team pulled a lighthearted prank on him by using the entire remaining pyro load from the Canadian tour, only for Jacobs to be quickly squashed by Satnam Singh in just 48 seconds.
